Philippines is my beloved country. All Filipinos dare to spend their lives for our nation. Although there are a lot of corrupt officials in every regime of our government but we Filipinos survived it through our dedication and hard-works. We are adding and contributing income to our government by working abroad. There are approximately 3,500 Filipinos leaving from our country everyday to work abroad. Although some of them are return workers and migrants but the number is enough to prove that most of the Filipino people are losing hope in finding jobs with higher salary in our country. Yes there are jobs if you are educated but the earning is not enough to feed our own family and send our kids to school.
If the officials of the government are not corrupt, surely nobody will work abroad. There should be enough income in every family in the country if the money from the people has been invested in a proper way. Our country is rich in natural resources. We have fertile soil that even plants and vegetables can grow-up without pouring water in morning and afternoon. We still have lots of vacant land in every portion in an island around our archipelago but it is not developed nor maintained due to lack of transportation to access goods after harvest to sell in town. If the money corrupted has been spent to build bridges and access road from farm to market, there will be enough supply of natural goods. We don't need to import rice from Vietnam or anywhere rather we are the one exporting such goods. We have plenty of educated and intelligent professionals but our own country have not been served instead they are serving other country to develop, to provide inventions that our country should be the first beneficiary of those developments and inventions. Doctors, Engineers, Accountants, Nurses, and many more skilled workers have been used by other country to develop their business, improved their lives but our own country suffered for lack of professionals. But nobody of those workers could be blamed but the people in the government itself.
Egyptians, Bahrainians and many Arab countries are now shouting for democracy, a reform from their totalitarian and monarchy form of government. Philippines is a democracy that many are longing for like those protesters in the Middle East counties but, why we Filipinos still struggling and surviving from un-employment, hunger and poverty? Again this is because of few individuals who are selfish and corrupt. In my opinion, I would rather choose a parliamentary form of government. In this form of government, corruption could be limited to individual. Unlike democracy, corruptions were from the President down to the smallest official in the barangay. So how much amount of money could be corrupted if all or most of them are corrupt? I could not imagine how much but of course it depends on a certain project budget approved. There were also a number of what they called ghost project. I think everyone of us knows about how much money have been taken by corrupt officials.
But one thing our President should do to stop corruption is to monitor all approved project and its budget, account the money from its release down to its destination where project is to be implemented. Create an independent technical team to review each design, material, scope of the project, prior to project approval, procurement and implementation. Those teams shall be composed of trusted individual to report to him directly of project status from start to completion. The President should also have the time to visit the project as spot check or inspection to verify the team's report. Most of all, the President should enforce the law in every aspects in the government especially the punishment of corruption. If the present law is not strong enough then it must be modified accordingly. Lastly, the government shall make a law to limit the number of children, depending on their parent’s capability and income.
Please follow my blog later on this website for the topic about our government and economy, particularly into what solution, steps to be done to stop or avoid corruptions on... "LET'S TALK ABOUT IT" Then we will find a way to brought things out, to help our government and the President itself. Let's come-up with the best ideas as we can. I am sure he will hear it as voice of individual Filipinos everywhere around the globe.
As Filipinos, it is our duty to help our country in anything we can from wherever we are. Let's make our children and their children's children proud on us. It is not too late to take action now!
In fact, if I were the president now, I will create a vigilant team to terminate those proven corrupt officials. Let them rest in peace before the virus on their heart, brain, and blood would spread out into their next generation.
Let us remember that as a human being, our function, obligation and duty to the world we are living for is never ending while we're still alive. A lot of neighboring countries are suffering from poverty and hunger due to selfishness and corruption. It sounds so complicated how to help them in our own way now. But, if we are successful in our country I am sure it will create a domino effect to other third world countries. And of course we can help them reach out the best solution.
Don't forget....."LET'S TALK ABOUT IT"
